As part of the team, the HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting NCC to grow and develop its greatest asset, its human resources. This position is ideal for someone who brings heart to their work, and who values contributing to a workplace rooted in Indigenous worldviews, community well-being, and shared responsibility.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. You will support the smooth operation of our HR functions, with a strong focus on HRIS administration, recruitment coordination, and employee lifecycle support.

Key Responsibilities:

 HRIS Administration

  • Administer and maintain the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), ensuring accurate and up to date employee records
  • Track time and attendance, monitor and record overtime, and manage leave and balance transfers
  • Update employee information and maintain clean, compliant HR records
  • Support documentation and ensure compliance with internal processes and policies

Recruitment and Staffing Support

  • Assist in coordinating recruitment activities such as scheduling interviews and contacting references, maintaining recruitment files and correspondence; and responding to enquiries with care and professionalism
  • Support the development of a skills database and recruitment tracking tools

Benefits Administration

  • Assist with benefit enrolment and change requests
  • Respond to employee benefit enquiries and liaise with providers to resolve issues and support staff as needed

Compliance & Process Support

  • Ensure HR documentation complies with policy and legislation
  • Manage and maintain accurate records ensuring policy adherence
  • Support HR process audits and improvements

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Prepare onboarding packages and support new hire orientations
  • Prepare offboarding procedures including exit interviews and system updates

What we are looking for:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of relevant training and 1–2 years of experience in HR, administration, or a related area (HRMS experience preferred but not required)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A solid sense of integrity and a commitment to confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A collaborative approach to work
  • Knowledge of Indigenous values, or cultural protocols is a strong asset
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with a desire and willingness to learn
