Nunatukavut

Under the direction of the CCT Coordinator, this team of 15 youth will be working closely with the Office of Communications to learn about showcasing culture through photography and videography. Participants will attend an annual summer film camp where they will learn to take frame shots with iPads or phones, the importance of lighting and sound, and editing in Final Cut Pro and other apps. They will utilize NCC’s existing YouTube Channel to share their videos.

Youth on this team will begin work on an oral history project. They will connect with NunatuKavut Elders to collect stories that will help preserve knowledge and understanding of NunatuKavut Inuit traditions, history, and cultural events.  The team will also work with community-based organizations to record and promote community life.

The team will be involved in various film and creative arts festivals throughout the province, which may include submissions of creative work or adjudication of work submitted by other artists.
