The NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) is seeking a highly organized and motivated Program Coordinator to support the effective delivery, administration, and financial management of initiatives within the Environmental and Natural Resources (ENR) Department. This position plays a key role in coordinating multiple initiatives, organizing program logistics, working closely with the Finance Department, to ensure efficient monitoring and reporting of departmental budgets and expenditures. The Program Coordinator provides both administrative and financial support to ensure that ENR programs are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contribution agreements and departmental objectives.
This position is full-time temporary with the possibility of extension, located in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and coordination of multiple ENR programs and projects.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of NCC’s communal fishery and community freezer in the local area.
- Play a leading role in logistical coordination for workshops, training sessions, meetings, and community engagement activities.
- Ensure effective communication and workflow among program staff, managers, and stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute program materials, agendas, and reports.
- Support the development of program documentation and follow-up.
Financial Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between the ENR Department and the Office of Finance and Administration on financial and budgetary matters.
- Monitor departmental and program budgets to ensure compliance with contribution agreements.
- Track expenditures and commitments; update spreadsheets and prepare reports for project leads and managers.
- Manage expense claims, invoices, and reimbursements for departmental staff and project stakeholders.
- Support procurement includes ensuring purchase orders and purchase documentation are effectively managed, and expenditures are accurately recorded and monitored.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and year-end summaries.
Administrative Support
- Maintain organized records of financial and program documentation.
- Assist with drafting correspondence and presentations.
- Support internal and external reporting requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of administrative and financial processes within the department.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of financial processes including budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial management systems (Sage).
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and accountability.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Environmental Studies, Finance, or related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, financial administration, or a similar role (preferably in a public sector, non-profit, or an environmental organization).
Working Conditions
- Office-based environment with occasional travel for workshops, meetings, or field events.
- Occasional extended hours may be required during key reporting or event coordination periods.
Salary Range: $56,000-74,000 annually
Preference will be given to qualified members of NunatuKavut Community Council.
