The NunatuKavut Community Council is hereby giving notice to members about the following Resolution, dated September 3, 2018, that will be tabled for discussion and decision during the upcoming 2019 AGA process.
“Whereas the NunatuKavut Community Council currently has no formal representation for full members living outside NunatuKavut on their governing council; and
Whereas it is important to ensure that all full members are included in the democratic and decision making processes of NunatuKavut; and
Whereas these processes are important in the self determination of Nunatukavut and its membership as a whole; and
Whereas, such representation will provide a voice for those full members not currently represented at the governing council table in a formal way; and
Whereas such representation has great potential in promoting unity within the membership;
Therefore, be it resolved that the NunatuKavut Community Council expand the structure of it’s governing council to include an elected seat to represent full members living outside of NunatuKavut. Furthermore, be it resolved that this seat become applicable in the next NCC general election in 2020.”
