Cobra Chicken – Canadian Goose

It’s Goose Watch Season 2024! The NCC is once again planning a Goose Watch. We invite our community members to share photos of the geese they see to monitor their annual migration across our territory. Please include location, date and estimated numbers. This helps us to understand the migration, flock size, and movement of the geese, a culturally important species that plays a large role in food security for our coastal communities in NunatuKavut. Everyone who shares their photos will be entered for a weekly prize draw. At the end of the migration period, all names get pooled together for ONE GRAND PRIZE WINNER.

Weekly prizes include:

  • Mosquito repellant device
  • First Aid kit
  • Waterproof case for phone
  • Stainless steel thermos (x2)
  • Multitool
  • Dry bag backpack (x2)
  • Knife sharpener/survival tool (x2)

The Grand Prize will be a large waterproof collapsible cooler bag.

You can post your photos on our Facebook or Instagram social media accounts or email them to us at communications@nunatuKavut.ca.
