Energy Autonomy Study

In continuing the energy autonomy research conducted between the NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) and Dalhousie University, the next step is a focussed study on potential impacts and community preferences identified by permanent residents of Charlottetown, Pinsent’s Arm, Port Hope Simpson, St. Lewis, Mary’s Harbour and Lodge Bay.

We will be holding 15-30 minute telephone interviews, at a date and time of your choosing, with individuals from the above communities who are interested in volunteering. We will ask questions around:

  • NL Hydro’s proposed diesel-plant centralization,
  • The St. Mary’s River hydroelectric and solar project,
  • The Isolated Systems Efficiency (Take Charge) Program; and,
  • Other projects within NunatuKavut
