National Wildlife Week – April 9 to 15, 2023 Art Contest

Did you know April 9th to 15th is National Wildlife Week in Canada? To help recognize and mark this particular week, NCC’s Department of Environment and Natural Resources wants to engage our young ones and encourage them to showcase their artistic talents. Each day from Monday, April 10 to Friday, April 14, 2023, NCC will highlight five important and distinct animals that are culturally significant to NunatuKavut Inuit.

We are encouraging our youth, ages 18 years and under, to draw the animal from each day and send it in to:

Sara Pearce-Meijerink

NunatuKavut Wildlife Biologist

Email: wildlifebiologist@nunatukavut.ca

So please show us your artistic skills, whether sketching with a pencil, drawing with crayons, or using digital media. You can scan and email or take a photo of your artwork and email it.

You may submit your artwork on each day depicting the animal for that day, or you can do a drawing of all five animals and send them in before the Monday, April 17, 2023, deadline. Each animal you apply your preferred talent and submit is an entry in prize draws. After the contest closes, we will do a series of prize draws. At the end of National Wildlife Week, all the week’s entries will be entered for a Grand Prize Draw.

The deadline for submissions is 4:00 PM, Monday, April 17, 2023.

All entries will be showcased in a future album for all to see.
