NCC south coast communal food fishery salmon tag distribution schedule released

The south coast communal food fishing season for salmon, trout and arctic char opens 6:00 a.m. on July 1 and closes August 7. Please pay close attention to the schedule outlined below for distribution of designations and salmon tags. Designations will be available in our Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Cartwright and Port Hope Simpson offices during normal office hours in the days after the start date.

• Please present your valid NCC membership card when picking up your designations
• Catch log deadline is September 29, 2023. All returned catch logs will be entered in a prize draw!

Please note that NCC’s communal food fishery will be managed in accordance with the terms of the 2023 Aboriginal Communal Fishing License provided by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.
