REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP): GENERAL CONTRACTOR SERVICES IN PORT HOPE SIMPSON

The NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) is inviting proposals from the private sector to complete renovations on an existing house structure in Port Hope Simpson, Labrador (please see current photos in attached PDF). The successful contractor will be responsible for all tools and labour related to the completion of this project as outlined in this RFP & Scope of Work. The successful contractor will also work with the Project Engineer and NCC’s Project Manager to complete required renovations for this project.
If interested, please complete the application form contained in this RFP and submit by email to grussell@nunatukavut.ca. Submissions must be received by 4:30 p.m. ADT, October 24, 2022. All proposals will be reviewed by NCC with the successful contractor being notified by October 28, 2022 with project works to start shortly after.
GUIDELINES
- Preference may be given to contractors registered with the NunatuKavut Business Centre.
- The contractor will be asked to participate in a project briefing, kickoff meeting, provide weekly updates to the Project Engineer and NCC’s Project Manager, and provide a final walk-through.
- Must have Certificate of Recognition (COR) for construction workplace safety.
- The contractor must follow any public health directives related to COVID-19 pandemic in place when the contracted work begins.

SCOPE OF WORK
Initial walk-through visual building.
Implement building renovation plan in consultation with the Project Engineer and NCC’s Project Manager.
Ensure final construction complies with the building for conformance with National Building Code of Canada with respect to the proposed building occupancy conversion.
Final inspection of work completed.
