The Social and Wellness Grant for Seniors and Vulnerable Persons is a grant program developed to encourage the organization of social and wellness programs or initiatives to benefit seniors and vulnerable persons. This may include initiatives that are community-specific or region-wide. Eligible applicants are any non-profit or community group in NunatuKavut. Grants of up to $3,000 are available and the non-profit or community group can only apply one time for this fund.
Application deadlines: Friday, May 22 and Friday, June 5.

Approved Projects
- Calvary Temple Women’s Group (Charlottetown): provide food/meals to seniors and other vulnerable persons once a month during May (fruit baskets), June (cold plates) and July (Jiggs dinner).
- Lodge Bay Local Service District (for Lodge Bay and Mary’s Harbour): provide personal care/wellness packages, containing toiletries, snacks, playing card, colouring books, crayons, etc.
- Town of Mary’s Harbour: hire three students for one month to help seniors and vulnerable persons tidy their properties and assist with day-to-day activities
- Town of Port Hope Simpson: provide Sunday cooked meal to all seniors and vulnerable persons in the community (approx. 80 families)
