The NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) is seeking a dynamic and compassionate School Food Program Coordinator to lead and support up to eight local school lunch programs. Job Type: Full-Time (35–40 hours/week)
Salary: $56,000–$74,000 annually (hourly rate)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Training & Support Provided
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of up to eight school lunch programs
- Coordinate food ordering, deliveries, inventory, and storage logistics
- Recruit, train, and support a team of food service workers
- Maintain communication with school administrators and community partners
- Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), and allergy awareness standards
- Monitor program quality, address issues, and implement improvements
- Provide scheduling and team-building support to cooking staff
- Maintain accurate reports and program documentation
Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (travel between program sites is required)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and troubleshoot in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable with basic reporting, computer use, and digital communication tools
Assets (Not Required but Preferred)
- Experience in team coordination or management
- Training from a certified culinary program
- Food Safety and OH&S committee training
- Experience building positive relationships with school staff, vendors, and kitchen teams
