The NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) is seeking a dynamic and compassionate School Food Program Coordinator to lead and support up to eight local school lunch programs. Location: NunatuKavut Territory
Job Type: Full-Time (35–40 hours/week)
Salary: $56,000–$74,000 annually (hourly rate)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Training & Support Provided

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of up to eight school lunch programs
  • Coordinate food ordering, deliveries, inventory, and storage logistics
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of food service workers
  • Maintain communication with school administrators and community partners
  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), and allergy awareness standards
  • Monitor program quality, address issues, and implement improvements
  • Provide scheduling and team-building support to cooking staff
  • Maintain accurate reports and program documentation

Job Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (travel between program sites is required)
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and troubleshoot in a fast-paced setting
  • Comfortable with basic reporting, computer use, and digital communication tools

Assets (Not Required but Preferred)

  • Experience in team coordination or management
  • Training from a certified culinary program
  • Food Safety and OH&S committee training
  • Experience building positive relationships with school staff, vendors, and kitchen teams
