Gros Morne National Park Moose Permits

We also have a total of four (4) permits available for the Gros Morne National Park area for individuals who did not get a license this year but would like an opportunity to put moose in their freezer and some to share. They will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Moose for NCC’s Community Freezer Program

NCC is distributing one moose license for the Labrador Straits area. The moose that is obtained will be processed by a butcher and distributed to members through NCC’s Community Freezer Program.

Expenses related to this hunt may be compensated (i.e. gas, meals, ammunition).

To enter your name for consideration to hunt this moose, please provide the following:

  • Name
  • NCC Membership Number
  • Proof of a valid Outdoor Identification Card
  • Confirmation that you can legally possess a firearm and a game license
  • Confirmation of availability for specific hunting dates, or dates you are unavailable

Please note that the end date for the license is December 14, 2024.

NCC Youth Hunt Opportunity

This year we are offering 1 – 2 youth the opportunity to join the moose hunt. Whenever possible, it will be a weekend day hunt, and we will attempt to give youth one day’s notice. If they are not available, we will move to the next name on the list of interest. If unsuccessful, other youth can join the next day of hunting.

Honorariums, rides, and meals will be provided.

Open to youth aged 16 and over.

Deadline to apply is October 11, 2024.

Knowledge-Sharing Activity: Moose Processing

NCC is extending an invitation to schools interested in participating in the processing of a quarter of moose. Schools will be notified when a moose has been secured, and within 2 – 5 days, the moose will be processed.

Elders will be involved in this knowledge-sharing activity.

We ask that schools interested in this opportunity let us know what processing technique you are interested in sharing with your students.

Deadline to apply is October 11, 2024.

If you have any questions regarding any of the above initiatives, or wish to submit your name, please contact:
