
‘There is life coming back into our communities’: NunatuKavut Community Council president supports reopening commercial northern cod fishery.
In a recent SaltWire article by Anasophie Vallee, NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) President Todd Russell explained that the NCC is grateful the decades-long northern cod moratorium has been lifted and the importance of the industry on our communities.
“It has always been fundamental to our well-being in a very significant way and contributed to our physical health, to our emotional health, to our spiritual health, to the health of our people,” he explained.
