Home Repair & Home Modification Program – Important Information
The Home Repair/Home Modification Program may provide financial assistance to eligible low-to-moderate income homeowners for essential repairs or accessibility upgrades, contingent on confirmed funding for the 2026–2027 fiscal year. This includes:
- Supporting necessary structural and related repairs, including improvements to basic heating, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Assisting with accessibility modifications that help individuals remain safely and comfortably in their homes for a longer period
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a NunatuKavut Resident
- Have a combined applicant/co-applicant income of $65,000 or less (based on Line 236 of the most recent income tax return)
- Provide proof of homeownership (deed of clear title or affidavit)
- Be the owner-occupant (principal residence)
- Be at least 19 years of age
- Have an eligible repair or modification need
A complete application must include:
- Completed and signed application form
- Proof of income
- Proof of homeownership
- NCC membership number
Important: Applications are currently being accepted in advance of funding confirmation for the 2026–2027 fiscal year. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application when/if funding is approved.
