CBC Radio Labrador Morning recently spoke with Nunacor Chief Executive Officer Andy A. Turnbull about the new building project in Mary’s Harbour.
On August 21st, Nunacor, in conjunction with Labrador MP Yvonne Jones, on behalf of the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities, Mary’s Harbour Mayor Alton Rumbolt and NunatuKavut Community Council President Russell, announced a new $24.4 million net-zero building for Mary’s Harbour.
This new space will house a reception area, a NunatuKavut tourism visitor information centre, a cultural space with interpretive displays on the history and culture of the NunatuKavut Inuit of southern and central Labrador, as well as office space and a renewable energy learning centre. Nunacor is the proponent of the funding.
An exciting milestone for Nunacor and the south coast of Labrador, the $24 million state-of-the-art building is being built in Mary’s Harbour by Nunacor, the recipient of a Canadian Government grant.
