NunatuKavut Wellness Initiative

The “Understanding People, Place, and Culture: A NunatuKavut Inuit Mental Wellness Initiative” endeavours to strengthen mental wellness resources in NunatuKavut. It includes the design, pilot, evaluation and implementation of a culturally appropriate mental wellness program.

Community members are invited to share their experiences and expertise through storytelling, photovoice and theatre. It involves local expertise from diverse people including patients, families, health care providers, and community leaders.

Survey

We are conducting a survey to gain insight into Mental Wellness experiences for NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC) members living in the territory. This initiative is a 5-year research project in partnership with Memorial University. NCC is co-leading this work, using a community driven research approach that will be used to strengthen and develop culturally relevant mental wellness supports in NunatuKavut.

The survey will take about 15-20 minutes to complete. Any information that is obtained in connection with this study and that can be identified with you will remain confidential and will not be disclosed.

*NOTE* Survey is now closed. Results are being analyzed and will be highlighted in an upcoming newsletter.
