The Honourable John Hogan, KC, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will unveil artwork in the East Block Lobby of Confederation Building Tuesday, September 2.
The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will showcase the original work of artist Charlene Rumbolt.
Premier Hogan will be joined by representatives of the Nunatukavut Community Council (NCC), the Honourable Dr. Scott Reid, Minister Responsible for Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation, and Minister for Environment and Climate Change, and the Honourable Lisa Dempster, Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and Agriculture, and Minister of Labrador Affairs.
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador worked closely with Indigenous Governments and Organizations to procure six pieces of Indigenous artwork, one for each of the five Indigenous Governments and Organizations and a sixth to honour the culture of the Beothuk.
