On this solemn day, our hearts turn to the brave souls who have worn the uniform of the Canadian Armed Forces. We remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, those who returned home forever changed, and those who continue to serve with unwavering courage. Their stories are forever etched into the very fabric of our families, our communities and our Nation.

Remembrance Day is a time to honour the fallen and the sacrifice of our veterans—it is a moment to reflect on the price paid for peace, the privilege of our freedoms, and the beauty reflected in our diversity. As Inuit from NunatuKavut we live proudly on the lands of our ancestors. We know our strength and well-being as a country lies in the unity of its many Nations. When we walk together we are indeed stronger.
We hold a special place for Indigenous veterans—those who faced injustice at home yet answered the call to defend the freedoms we all cherish. To the men and women of NunatuKavut who have served and sacrificed: your strength, your spirit, and your love for this land inspire us deeply.
With so much conflict abroad and with increasing threat to Canada’s own sovereignty, “We pray for peace.” We pray for the safety of those serving far from home. And we pray for their return.
Let us carry remembrance in our hearts—not just today, but every day. Let us lift up our veterans, support those who serve, and strive together for a world where peace is not a dream, but a reality.
